As evident by the linkage of demographic and patent information in the Brookings study of Black innovators, the history of inventors, invention, and innovation continues to be written, and this is especially the case for women and for Blacks and people of color. And, as stressed by Christopher Cooper in Truth about Tesla, researchers need to pay particular attention to primary sources. Works on contemporary invention and innovation shed light on the rapid and dynamic evolution of technologies such as AI. How digital and other technologies will be harnessed by individuals, institutions, and nations for competitive advantage in a global market remains to be seen. One can only hope that innovators and inventors look to possible sustainable strategies to help ensure a sustainable world going forward.
